COVID-19 Guidance at Redeemer
LATEST UPDATE -
We are no longer required by law to abide by any covid-19 restrictions on a Sunday morning. However if you would still like to sit at a greater distance from others on a Sunday we will stream every service into a larger overflow space at UWL where you will be able to sit at a distance from others which is comfortable for you.
Please do speak to one of the welcome team on a Sunday morning if you have any concerns about the health and safety of yourself or the rest of the congregation.
December 2021 onwards -
The government has mandated the use of masks in many additional venues this week and as such we will need to follow those rules throughout UWL. Please wear a mask throughout the service. Our friendly welcome team will be politely reminding people about the change as they come in.
We worship the God of the universe, the Creator of all things, and the God of eternal. We have constantly been reminded of His goodness to us and these weeks are no different.
A few other practical reminders for our services. We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable to be able to join us physically at UWL where possible. The cafe overflow area is a place where you can join us but still keep a distance from others if you'd prefer. We have increased the amount of hand sanitiser throughout. Our kids workers will open all the windows that they can in the kids rooms. Lets be kind to our church family and be gracious to our volunteers!
July 2021 onwards
Following the comments of the Prime Minister on Monday 12th July, we are planning on making changes to our Sunday services from Sunday 25th of July.
A few differences to previous weeks:
We are allowed to sing!
The kids (under 11s) will join the main meeting for the first 15 minutes to join us in worship. We know that children learn from their parents and we have so missed having them in to be with us.
Kids check-in will be in the cafe area before the service. Please do this and get the name labels before the service.
The welcome team will ask you where you will feel most comfortable in sitting. Nearer the front of the main hall will be more dense than at the back where there will be plenty of space if you’d prefer. We won’t actively manage seat spacing.
There will be multiple & distanced tea/coffee refreshment points in the cafe area. Please don't congregate in those areas.
The service will be slightly longer (10.30-11.45).
What will continue:
The cafe overflow area will continue for now.
Entrance to the University will be at the front South Ealing Road entrance.
Masks must be worn whilst walking around the University (UWL rules). Whilst you are in your seat it is at your discretion.
Plenty of sanitiser at every point - please use accordingly.
Windows and doors to be fully opened to allow a decent airflow.
We will keep the giving/offering basket by the door as people exit.
Throughout Covid, Redeemer has followed the up to date government guidance as best as we can and this week is no different. Although the mandated laws have changed there is still strong guidance that for larger gatherings (like at churches) people take regular lateral flow tests, wear masks and minimise close contact. If you would like practical help in getting tests please ask us.
General COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Guidance
We have been closely monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and, following advice from Public Health England and other larger city churches, we are taking appropriate steps to ensure we keep our congregations and volunteers as safe as possible.
General Advice and Precautions
Please do not attend church if:
If you are in a period of self, or mandated isolation.
If you have a recent onset of a new continuous cough and/or high temperature, click for public health guidance.
For those who are in a vulnerable or high risk group and are awaiting vaccination, we encourage you to consider your attendance and make the best decision for yourself at this time.
Redeemer on Sunday
These are some of the steps we are now taking more widely to help prevent the spread of infection:
At the University, there are plenty of hand washing facilities in the toilets. Please use them before the service.
Avoid handshakes or hugs
We are asking all team and volunteers, who are feeling unwell, to stay away from serving until fully recovered.
If you travel via public transport to Redeemer, please thoroughly wash your hands on arrival at church.
To help prevent the spread of infection, please follow general best practice as outlined by Public Health England.
Community
There will be plenty of people in Ealing and in the Redeemer family who will be more vulnerable than normal. We would encourage you to reach out to those around you. Call those you might not normally call and find out if you can help in any way. If you have self-isolated make sure you let someone like your MeetUp leader know.
Travel advice
If you have recently returned from abroad, or are planning travel, please ensure that you are following all FCO advice.
Please DO NOT ATTEND CHURCH if you are in a period of self, or mandated isolation.
Please note, we will add any further updates to this page.
Please join us in praying for the local and global situation and for those particularly affected. We're aware particularly of those within the congregation and local community who may be concerned about its impact and would love to support them in prayer and in the way we approach our response.
We might be low on team, so please be kind and gracious to our volunteers.
In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
